Painting in Oil

A short time back, I started questioning what my drawings would appear like if they were
painted. I have been a huge fan of graphite - telling stories in black and white and all of the
shades of grey in between.

After a year of questioning myself, I gave in to the thought and started painting in oil. I am
captivated by it. Strangely enough, I feel that my graphite artwork has improved, as I
continue to master the techniques of painting in oil.

The ability to tell a story still remains the same, and so my story unfolds.

Cardinals happen to be one of my favorite
birds. We have 1 family of cardinals in our
backyard, and they are so humorous to
watch.

They are very territorial and are fearless,
even chasing birds twice their size away
from their food sources.
